(Video) Breastfeeding Debate Continues

There are new details and reaction today to a breastfeeding controversy in Asheville.

Crystal Everitt says she was asked to leave Denny’s on Patton Avenue Sunday because she was breastfeeding her child. Denny’s Regional Director Rick Pate tells News 13 complaints poured into management and some patrons left. He says a manager asked Everitt to cover herself or go somewhere more private.

Something is wrong with a society that is offended by a woman doing what her breasts were created for, feeding her baby, but doesn’t find bottle feeding with artificial, canned “milk” abhorrent. Breastfeeding is the BEST and natural way to feed a baby and toddler and it is time we encourage it more widely rather than make it uncomfortable and difficult for women to do by asking them to cover up or go sit in the bathroom.
