Break information down into smaller units. Cut 3 by 5 cards in half and put a vocabulary word on each, the definition on the other side . . . . Or write facts on these cards; for example, "The normal range for a hematocritis . . ." and put the answer on the other side. Keep the cards in your purse. Test yourself with them whenever you're waiting somewhere: during long labors, at the gas station, when you pick up your kids at school, and so on. When you answer the question correctly, put a little dot in the corner of the card.
